- Description
- Amendment to the Applied Information Systems (AISR) Program, Appendix A.9.1, NASA Research Announcement (NRA) 01-OSS-01 The Office of Space Science (OSS) recognizes how unsettling the tragedy of September 11 has been and the additional burden it may present for those who are preparing proposals to the Applied Information Systems (AISR) Program announced in NASA Research Announcement (NRA) 01-OSS-01, Program Element A.9.1 (see amended AISR program posted June 18, 2001). The deadline for submission of these AISR proposals was originally set for COB, Wednesday, September 26, 2001. However, owing to the time lost in many work schedules and disruption of travel due to the current national emergency, the following changes to this schedule are being made: (1) The deadline for submission of the required number of copies of the proposals is extended to Friday, October 5, 2001. In addition, this deadline may be met by demonstration of a postmark in the case of the US Postal Service, or a "received on" date in the case of a commercial shipper, by local midnight of that new deadline date. (2) In order that OSS can proceed with the planning for peer review, we are requiring that a fully completed and final version of the proposal's Cover Page/Proposal Summary be received through the proposal submission Web site ( http://props.oss.hq.nasa.gov/ ) by 4:30 Eastern Time on the new proposal deadline. These are difficult times and it will be challenging to return to "normal" pursuit of our research endeavors. We hope that these changes will help all of us to meet this challenge.
