Description

The following clarification is provided for the work to be performed for the tourboats and are part of the specification. One tourboat at a time will be available for repair work. The contractor is required to take necessary action to ensure that EPA requirements for work performed for this job are met. This includes dust control and containment of the work area so that no paint, debris, or dust of any kind fall into the water. Boats will not be put into drydock. All work is to be performed while the boat is moored at Ford Island. Repairs to the canopy are limited to patching screw holes and repair of the corners prior to painting the surface. Any additional work, such as sanding the fiberglass weave for aesthetic purposes, shall be considered work not included and shall be dealt with by the contractor as previously stated. The contractor shall coordinate with the Government to ensure that additional finishing work is not required prior to painting the surface of the canopy. Normal fiberglass resin may be used for repairs to the boat. The requirement to begin repairs within one week is removed from the specification. The time for completion of the work is extended from 45 days to 75 days. The date and time for receipt of offers is extended to 24 September 2001, 1:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time.
