- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $115,000.00 and $300,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to the USCGC MAKO (WPB-87303), a 87 foot patrol boat. The home pier of the vessel is=20 1 Munro Avenue, Cape May, NJ. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 42 days with a start date of 1 April 2002. The scope of the acquisition is for the dry docking, overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC MAKO (WPB-87303). This work will include, but is not limited to: welding repairs; clean and inspect fuel and waste oil tanks; remove and dispose of fuel; remove and dispose of oil and oily water; clean and inspect sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks; minor coating repairs, sewage tank; minor coating repairs, grey water tank; align main engine; remove, inspect and reinstall propeller shafts; perform stern tub/strut alignment inspection; inspect government-furnished propeller shaft; straighten aquamet propeller shaft; inspect and renew water lubricated shaft bearings; renew intermediate bearing; renew Aft bearing; remove inspect and reinstall propellers; perform minor propeller reconditioning; preserve the transducer hull rings, renew the V850 depth indicating transducer and the elm 500 series LS 571 doppler speed LGO tranducer; overhaul, renew and test valves; inspect and clean sea strainers; remove, inspect and reinstall rudders; renew rudder upper bearing; renew rudder lower bearing; inspect and preserve RIB notch wet deck and stern door interior surface; preserve sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks; preserve sewage tank; preserve grey water tank; renew draft figures; preserve underwater body ?condition A?; preserve underwater body ?condition B?; preserve underwater body ?condition C?; provide temporary dining and lodging; ultrasonic testing (single shots ? 1-99 shots); ultrasonic testing (100 shots per group); ultrasonic testing (500 shots per group); provide temporary logistics; provide additional temporary logistics; routine drydocking; complete chart table modification; renew deck covering system. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, the solicitation will be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to awoodley@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4676/75. In response please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers and (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by October 2, 2001. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted in the CBD.=20
