65 -- TITLE: NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE SOLE SOURCE RFP 637-59-01 DUE 102201 POC Joyce Lindsey, Contracting Officer, (828)299-5809. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Kay Elemetrics Corp of Lincoln Park, IL for the purchase of the 7200 Swallowing Workstation and a complete Digital Video Stroboscopy System. Purchase will include all delivery and training as reguired for Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Asheville NC. The government believes that Kay Elemetrics Corp is the only company, which can provide this type of equipment; the Swallowing Workstation features a swallowing signals lab in one unit and a digital video computer which allows concurrent acquisition and display of physiologic data acquired through swallowing signals lab on the same screen video recording. The Digital Video Stroboscopy System measures vocal patterns. NAICS: 339112. This is not a request for competitive quotes, however, responses received on or before noon on October 22, 2001 will be evaluated. Offerors responding to this notice must provide proof that their equipment will meet the requirements stated herein. Information must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer and at a minimum include equipment brochures, company literature, plus a list of at least three similar facilities who are currently using the suggested equipment.
