Description

The United States Department of Agriculture, National Finance Center, intends to issue a sole source award under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) to EMC Corporation for software and equipment maintenance on the SYMMETRIX 5500 RAID -1 and accessories. This is a sole source purchase because of the proprietary nature of the software and equipment and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. EMC is the owner of the copyright and no other source is know to have authorization for license, maintenance and technical support of this software or equipment. No solicitation is available. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for offers. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All interested parties may express their interest to the Contracting Officer by the due date of this notice of intent either by e-mail, conventional mail or facsimile at 504-253-5289.
