- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, to procure 5-WET configuration stretch testing on the F/A-18E/F aircraft. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the sole designer, producer and supporter of the F/A-18E/F aircraft and is the only known source with the knowledge, experience, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment to provide this type of test. This test will include stretch testing of the mid-board and centerline pylon backup structure on the F/A-18E/F Airframe Fatigue Test Article (FT50) and fatigue testing of the SUU-78A/A centerline pylon.
