Description

PHASE III CULTURAL RESOURCES MITIGATION OF THE VIETS HOTEL (32GF1286) AND RICHARDSON STORE/HOTEL MENTONE (32GF134) ARCHEOLOGICAL SITES IN GRAND FORKS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA. The contractor shall prepare a data recovery plan for mitigating adverse effects to two National Register of Historic Places eligible historic archeological sites dating to the early years of the city of Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, North Dakota. Upon approval of the data recovery plan by the St. Paul District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the North Dakota State Historic Preservation Office, the contractor will implement that plan. Archeological excavation shall be a key portion of that plan. While historic materials and features are the primary items present at these two sites, prehistoric materials are also present in small numbers. Key contractor personnel must meet the Secretary of the Interior's professional qualification standards for historic archeologists, prehistoric archeologists and historians.
