Description

The Government intends to raise the dollar threshold and combine contract periods under contract DACA31-00-D-0005. The contract is an Indefinite Delivery-type multi-discipline contract advertised in the CBD 5/25/99 for design of three warehouses at the Defense Distribution Center and the Defense Distribution Depot, Susquehanna, PA, New Cumberland, PA. The contract was awarded to Setter Leach & Lindstrom 24 January 2000 for one base period of $1,000,000.00 and two option periods of $1,000,000.00 each. Under this contract, Setter, Leach & Lindstrom has designed two warehouses and is starting the design of a third warehouse. As a result of User requested design changes to the warehouses, additional work is required over $3,000,000.00, but under $3,500,000.00. Since Setter, Leach & Lindstrom has completed designs on two warehouses, thereby having knowledge of the Installation and User needs, and since a rigid schedule for design must be maintained, issuance of a modification to the contract is in the best interest of the Government. Therefore, the Baltimore District is intending to issue a modification to the contract to increase the contract values from $3,000,000.00 to $3,500,000.00 and combine the periods into one period for $3,500,000.00. The contractor completing this work will have to assume full liability for the complete project within budget and schedule; and design effort of warehouses in general and the two previous warehouses, the Installation, and User needs. This is not a request for proposal.
