Description

The F-16 System Program Office (SPO), ASC/YP, is contemplating acquisition of F-16 radar 1750A chipsets used in the production of AN/APG-68(V)5 radar production kits for install on new USAF production aircraft. The F-16 SPO anticipates awarding a sole source contract to Performance Semiconductor Corporation, Sunnyvale, California in November of 2001. This company is the sole source supplier for the MIL-STD-1750A product line chipset used in the APG-68(V)5 Advanced Programmable Signal Processor (APSP) Line Replaceable Unit (LRU). The purpose of this synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within 30 days of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. The USAF has a projected requirement for 60 AN/APG-68(V)5 radar kits (each kit requires 2 chipsets) to compliment a projected 60 additional new Block 50 aircraft. This buy will also include 5 scrap/rework parts for a total of 65 chipsets or 130 pieceparts. This life-of-type buy will ensure the viability of future USAF purchases of the AN/APG-68(V)5 APSP LRU.
