Description
The Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters (NAVAIR) has a requirement and intends to award a cost plus fixed fee modif ication to contract N00019-93-C-0006 with Bell-Boeing for a supplemental maintenance workforce required to execute the tasks necessary to return CV-22 test articles (a/c 7 and 9) to flight operations by the Benefield Anachoic Facility (BAF) entry d ate at the end of May 2002. The United States Air Force (USAF) requires Bell-Boeing mechanics with a mix of hydraulic and s tructural skills to supplement the USAF maintenance team and Integrated Test Team (ITT) for the time period leading to the r eturn to flight test operations. The Bell-Boeing team is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the V-22 tiltrotor a ircraft. As such, Bell-Boeing is the only source possessing the facilities, tooling, equipment, and knowledge of the V-22 a ircraft design and performance characteristics necessary to satisfy the government's requirement.
