Description

Public Notice of availability of a prospectus for the award of a six-year concession contract authorizing the operation of ferry service from Patchogue, New York to Watch Hill and Barrett Beach, Fire Island, New York. The transportation service, for visitors and freight, operates from mid May to mid October. The area assigned to the Concessioner in Patchogue, New York includes a parking lot and terminal building. All personnel, equipment and supplies needed to operate shall be provided by the concessioner. The existing concessioner's annual gross receipts for service to Watch Hill in 2000 were $117,527. The Director, National Park Service, has determined that this is a qualified new concession contract as annual gross receipts are estimated to be less than $500,000 in the first 12 months of its term. Therefore, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51.36, a preferred offeror for this contract exists. Offers are due December 11, 2001. A pre-proposal site visit is scheduled for October 30, 2001. The cost for each prospectus is $25.00. Checks should be made payable to the National Park Service. A Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number must be provided on all checks.
