Description
The Little Rock District, Corps of Engineers (LRD, COE), Little Rock, Arkansas, is seeking construction contractors that are able to execute the following construction project: The proposed construction work consist of the construction of a new C-130 Fligh t Simulator facility at Little Rock Air Force Base. The new two-story facility consists of 3730 square meters. The building is divided into two (2) Areas A and B. Area A contains the simulator bay and support areas, which are required to be completed ea rlier than B (Phased Construction is required). Area B includes the teaching/administration areas and other support areas. The project includes several restrooms, stairways, computer rooms, briefing rooms, break areas with casework and freight elevator. The project includes site development such as new parking, driveways, sidewalks, landscaping, and new perimeter service drive. The building will have mechanical, electrical, fire protection/detection, lightning protection, seismic protection, communicati on services, and other support infrastructures. In addition there are five Bid Options including, but not limited to, public address system, main room theatre seats, parking lot (including lighting, sidewalks, mechanical, masonry wall, dumpster masonry wa ll, pavilion, rear service drive, and burying the overhead primary electrical lines across Thomas and at 1220/1230A area. Demolition of overhead and underground utilities, concrete pads, asphalt areas, trees, sidewalks, etc., is required to prepare the si te for the new facility. Demolition of existing buildings is not required. The estimated cost is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00 -- for a Firm Fixed Price Contract -- project duration is approximately 548 calendar days if awarded under a compres sed schedule or 821 calendar days non-compressed schedule. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 233320 and the annual size standard is $27.5 million. General Contractors should respond in writing to Little Rock District, Corps of E ngineers, Attn: CESWL-CT-A (D. Johnson), P.O. Box 867, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203-0867, no later than 7 November 2001. The written response shall provide the following information: bonding limitation, capacity, and current availability, the firm's dollar limit for bid guarantee/performance guarantee capacity, size status (whether a LB, SB, SDB, 8(a), or Women Owned business), provide a minimum of three references with same or similar type work that is currently in progress, or that has been successfully c ompleted. This Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) Notice is for information and planning purposes only, and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal, announcement of a solicitation, or other obligation on the part of the LRD, COE. T he LRD, COE will not award a contract on the basis of responses to this RFI/SS nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information submitted.
