Description
The Environmental Epidemiology Branch (EEB) of the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to negotiate a contract modification with the Cancer Center & Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute of Poland to identify breast cancer cases and population controls for an additional nine months and ovarian and endometrial cancer cases for an additional twelve months in both Lodz and Warsaw, Poland. The study is being conducted under contract N01-CP-91013. The additional work will be conducted over a 16 month period. Authority: 41 USC 253 (1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Number Note 22 applies as follows: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted.
