This is a request for information only as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The government does not presently intend to award a contract, but wants to obtain capabilities information for planning purposes. This is a request for information only. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This is a Request for Information only. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Battlelab (UAVB) is seeking ideas on accurate fuel quantity indication for the Predator UAV. Predator currently houses two rubberized fuel bladders that collapse as they empty, in order to reduce fuel fumes and the likelihood of fire. Each tank has its own filler neck and cap, and is serviced through its filler cap, which provides atmospheric venting. These fuel bladders are filled with Avgas 100 LL (low lead) and supply fuel to the engine. The forward fuel bladder has the capacity of approximately 390 lbs or 64 gallons of fuel, while the aft tank?s capacity is approximately 250 lbs or 42 gallons. Because Predator is a remotely operated vehicle, fuel quantity indicators must be capable of providing accurate fuel quantity information input to return link telemetry.
