Description

Small business sources sought for FSC 7240, CAN, GASOLINE, PORTABLE FIRE PUMP. Small business dealers must provide products from small domestic manufacturers. The North American Classification (NAICS ) code for this acquisition is 332431. The small business size standard is 500. However, the small business size standard for a concern which submits an offer in its own name, but which proposes to furnish a product which it did not itself manufacture, is 500 employees. The following information is a product description of the item to be procured: NSN 7240-01-044-5523, NFES 0218, CAN, GASOLINE, PORTABLE FIRE PUMP: The can shall be a 5 gallon storage and transportation can for gasoline. The can shall be red and contain a "quick-connect" fitting near the base of the can, and shall be for use with the portable fire-fighting water pumps NSN 4320-01-035-0047 and NSN 4320-00-890-5879. The can shall be the Wildfire Part No. FA-352GSA or equal. The "equal" can shall be equal to the specified part number in the following characteristics: 1. The capacity shall be 5 gallons, plus or minus 10 percent. 2. The overall exterior dimensions of the can shall be the same plus or minus 1 inch. 3. The placement of the quick-disconnect fitting shall be the same, plus or minus 1/2 inch. 4. The wall thickness shall be the same, minimum. 5. The female quick-disconnect fitting shall mate and seal with the same male fitting and shall completely shut off the flow of fuel from within the tank when disconnected, both operations shall not allow any leakage. 6. The top opening shall be the same, and shall accept and seal with the same cap. 7. The color shall be the same. PACKAGING/PACKING: Each can shall be packaged in a close-fitting fiberboard box. The packaging and packing shall protect the item(s) from damage during shipment, handling and storage. The packing shall be in compliance with the applicable freight regulations. SPECIAL MARKING: The National Fire Equipment System (NFES) number appearing below the National Stock Number (NSN) of this Item Purchase Description shall be marked on the shipping container below the NSN. The NFES number shall be preceded by "NFES". MARKING: Shipments to GSA and other civilian agencies shall be marked in accordance with FED-STD-123. In addition, the UPC code shall be marked on all shipping containers and shall remain clearly legible. NIB/NISH/FPI suppliers shall be exempt from UPC code requirements. Shipments to the Department of Defense (DOD) shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. PALLETIZATION: The shipping containers shall be palletized. The pallets shall be 48-inch length x 40-inch width, general purpose, four-way entry, flush stringer, double face non-reversible pallets. The palletized load shall not exceed 2500 pounds in weight. The palletized load shall not overhang the pallet and shall not exceed 53 inches in overall height. Less than half pallet loads or loads shipped by small package carrier need not be palletized. NOTICE: All lumber used inside or outside a shipment shall be BARK FREE. UNITIZATION OF PALLET LOAD: The palletized load shall be unitized and secured to the pallet to insure that the load arrives intact. REFERENCE: Wildfire=20 16311 N.E.
