Description
This is a Sources Sought synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This sources sought synopsis requests information needed by the Department of Defense (DoD) prior to the release of any potential solicitation. Details follow (please read the entire synopsis). OFFERORS MUST BE ABLE TO ADHERE TO THE REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED IN THE BODY OF THIS DOCUMENT AND REPLY TO ANY QUESTIONS HEREIN. This is not a request for proposal and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) -- Mechanicsburg is seeking sources capable of providing manufacture of approximately 225 MK 45 Mod 2 Hand lift Trucks (NSN: 7H-3920-01-152-7179, P/N: 5167104) over a period of 5 years. The Hand lift Truck MK 45 Mod 2 consists of a cast aluminum body, a tow bar assembly and a lift mechanism. The body is mounted on two wheels equipped with polyurethane tires. The lift mechanism, which includes a lift arm and a mounting pin for engaging the load, is manually operated by a reversible ratchet wrench to raise or lower the lift arm assy. The Mk 45 Mod 2 is used when lifting and maneuvering long heavy containers, cradles and skids within the weight capacity of two trucks (6000 lbs). They are use in pairs with one truck positioned at each end of the item. Associated equipment includes: Truck adapter MK 26 Mod 2, Hand lift Truck adapters Mk 28 Mod 0 and 1, Mk 93 Mod 0, Mk 160 Mods 0 or 1, Level Adapter Mk 134 Mk 0 and Container Adapter Mk 109 Mod 0. Molds for the required castings will be offered as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
