- Description
- The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) intends to award a contract to physicians to provide assistance in the medical review of disability retirement applications and disputed claims for health insurance benefits. Physicians may be required to provide consultant services to other agencies on issues related to disability programs and, on an as-needed basis, provide training to OPM staff on various medical issues. Physicians must be licensed to practice in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, and must be available to render services at a minimum of 10 hours per week. Physicians must be Board certified or have a minimum of 4 years of progressive post-graduate education in an accredited program in the specialty that can be applied towards Board certification. Offerors must be located in the metropolitan Washington, DC, area. The base contract period will be one calendar year from date of award, with four additional option years. Solicitation OPM-02-00002JCB is expected to be released 15 days after publication of this notice and will be closed 30 days after release. This is requirement has not been set-aside. NAIICS code for this requirement is 621399, Offices of all other Miscellaneous Health Practioners, and SIC 8099, Health and Allied Services NEC, with annual average sales of $5 million.
