Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons/Southeast Regional Office located at 3800 Camp Creek Parkway, Bldg. 2000, Atlanta, GA 30331-6226 intends to award multiple Indefinite Quantity contracts to hospitals within a sixty (60) mile radius of the Federal Correctional Institution, Talladega Alabama for comprehensive hospital services to include inpatient, room and board, and ancillary services; outpatient services, medically necessary professional services, as appropriate; in a comprehensive package. The hospital(s) shall make available on a nondiscriminatory basis, inpatient and outpatient services in a manner consistent with the medical needs of the patients in accordance with medical standards for quality and cost effective patient care. The preferred payment methodology for these services (which will receive preference in both awards and patient referrals) shall be calculated from benchmarks utilizing medicare reimbursement methodologies. For each category of service to be provided. Offerors will be allowed to propose a variance from the Benchmark Medicare rate in the form of a discount from the premium to medicare rates established by the Health care Financing Administration. The medical care will be for the inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution, Talladega, Alabama 35160. Hospital are requested to contact the Contracting Officer listed in this notice. All requests for solicitation packages or information must be in writing and include the RFP number, specific information about location of your medical facility, and the name of a contact person with a telephone number. The estimated issue date of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is September 4, 2001. The contract will include a base year not to exceed twelve (12) months with four (4) one year option renewal periods. The estimated inpatient days are recorded below. Base Year's Guaranteed Minimum is 48, estimated Maximum 480; Option Year One Minimum 50, Maximum 500; Option Year Two Guaranteed Minimum 52, Maximum 520; Option Year three, Guaranteed Minimum 54, Maximum 540; Option Year Four Guaranteed Minimum 56, Maximum 560 inpatient days. The Outpatient Institution services that are required are as follows, Orthopedic Surgeon, 12 sessions per year, Dermatologist services, 4 sessions per year, Psychiatrist services, 4 sessions per year,Urologist, 4 sessions per year, General Surgeon, 12 sessions per year, Ent. Specialist, 4 sessions per year, Dietician 4 sessions per year, Optometrist 36 sessions per year, ART/RRT. , 4 sessions per year, Infectious Disease Specialist, 2 sessions per year,Phlebotomist, 156 sessions per year, Radiology Technician, 24 sessions, and a Cardiologist, 4 sessions per year.
