Description

(i) The U.S. Army, Fort Carson, Colorado intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Keystone Mountain Resort, Colorado for Cold Weather Training support subject to the availability of funds. This purchase will be done under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The anticipated award date is December 1, 2001. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes, however; any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source negotiation. ii) Requirements: CLIN 0001 Lodging; CLIN 0002 Meals; CLIN 0003 -- Ski Passes; CLIN 0004 -- Ski Maintenance; CLIN 0005 -- Audio/Visual Support; and CLIN 0006 -- Long Distance Phone Service. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the following requirements: terrain in the backcountry for skiing must accommodate all skill levels from beginner to advanced levels; guests must be co-located for lodging; number of guests will vary through the months of January 2002 and February 2002; training areas must be close to lodging areas to minimize safety risks; communications from training areas and support areas must be achievable; ground MEDEVAC must support transporting injured personnel anywhere within training areas to treatment facility within one hour; medical support facilities must be able to support potential life threatening injuries and must be located as close to the training areas as possible; training areas must be accessible by ground vehicles; facility must be able to accommodate a minimum of 300 people at any time. (iii) Period of Rental: Varies throughout month of January and February 2002, please contact the above listed POC for dates for each CLIN. (iv) Award shall be made only to contractors who have registered with the Central Contractor Registration at www.ccr2000.com. (v) The following provisions in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) apply to this acquisition to include any addenda to the provision. This solicitation incorporates one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text.
