Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for a contractor to provide Armed and Unarmed Guard Services at the SSA Main Complex in Baltimore (Woodlawn), MD. SSA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract with four (4), successive, one-year options, if exercised. The performance under this contract shall include guard services at 14 different buildings. This acquisition has been set-aside 100 percent for small business concerns in all stages of development. Any responsible small business source may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. Offers received from other than small business sources will be deemed unacceptable and will not be considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 7381. The size standard for this NAICS code is $9.0 million. This acquisition is determined to be subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) regarding the acquisition of commercial items and also subject to Part 15 of the FAR regarding contracting by negotiation. A request for proposals, number SSA-RFP-02-0007, is scheduled for release on or about November 20, 2001, with proposals due no-later-than 30 calendar days thereafter.
