- Description
- The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI Safford), located at 1529 W. U.S. Hwy. 366, Safford, Arizona 85546 intends to award a contract for a Vocational Training Program with one base year, and four option years. The contract will consist of three separate programs, Building Trades, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC), and General Business. Listed below are the three separate programs and what is expected for each program: Provide a certified Building Trades Vocational Training Program to the inmates of Federal Correctional Institution, Safford, Arizona on a contractual basis not to exceed 30 hours per week. Contractor will be required to provide vocational instruction in Beginning Carpentry, Forming and Framing; Blue print Reading; and Introduction to Technical Math. Contractor will be required to maintain class attendance, students' progress in class, and monthly performance evaluations. It is anticipated that there will be a total of 150 six (6) hour sessions for each contractual year. Provide a Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Vocational Training Program to the inmates of Federal Correctional Institution, Safford, Arizona on a contractual basis not to exceed 15 hours per week. Contractor will be required to provide vocational instruction in Concepts: Theories: Procedures and Troubleshooting Techniques of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology. Contractor will be required to maintain class attendance, student's progress in class, and monthly performance evaluations. It is anticipated that there will be a total of 100 three (3) hour sessions for each contractual year of the contract. Provide a certified General Business Vocational Training Program to the inmates of Federal Correctional Institution, Safford, Arizona on a contractual basis not to exceed 30 hours per week. The class must be college accredited by the State Board of Directors for Community Colleges of Arizona. Contractor will be required to provide vocational instruction in Business Math; Small Business Management; Human Relations; Intro to Computers; Word Perfect; Quickbooks; and Windows & Writing. Contractor will be required to maintain class attendance, students progress in class, and monthly performance evaluations. It is anticipated that there will be a total of 208 six (6) hour sessions during the period of the contract. This will be four classes of 52 sessions during the contract year and for each contractual year there after. Classes are operational on a semester basis. The VT Building Trades Class should last approximately four (4) months, repeating each semester. The VT HVAC class will run for five (5) months or one and ? semesters. The General Business VT will run for three months and repeat four times during the contract year. This will provide us with two VT Building Trades Classes, one VT HVAC class, and four VT Business classes during one (1) contract year. Vocational Training Building Trades Classes and VT General Business (each 6-hour sessions) will meet 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM five days per week. The instructors will have no students from 11:00 AM to Noon. Vocational Training HVAC classes (3-hour sessions) will meet five days per week. All supplies and materials will be provided by FCI Safford. The contractor shall furnish proof that it is an accredited college with all state licenses and/or certifications. Course curriculums will be provided by the contractor as requested. The contractors instructors agree to adhere to all regulations prescribed by the institution for the safety, custody and conduct of inmates. The contractors instructors shall attend an orientation program prior to assuming institutional involvement. Reimbursement to the contractor for the time spent in institution security orientation or other periodic security related training will be at the contract rates. Notional Crime Information Center clearance and urine samples will be required for any contractor entering the confines of FCI Safford. Adherence to the Bureau of Prisons Code of Conduct as it pertains to their participation in institution operations and programs will be required. This contract will be awarded to only one contractor. Neither this contract nor any interest herein or any claim arising hereunder may be transferred or assigned by the Contractor to any other individual or agency. The contractor warrants that he/she has not employed any person to solicit or secure this contract upon any agreement for commission, percentage, or contingent fee. Breach of this warranty shall give the United States Government the right to annul this contract, or int its discretion, to deduct from any compensation or other amount payable hereunder, the amount of such commission, percentage, or contingent fee. Period of contract will be from date of award through September 31, 2002 with four option years. =20
