Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB), Albany, Georgia, intends to award a contract using acquisition of commercial items (FAR Part 12) procedures. The requirement is for maintenance support of IBM hi-speed printers, models 3130 and 3180. The contractor must provide on-site services at MCLB Albany, GA. The contract will consist of a base year period (beginning 1 December 2001) with 4 options years. The service shall consist of On-call (8x5) maintenance services for IBM hi-speed printers located at the Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, Georgia. Current invent ory of printers to be maintained is 14 each 3130/02D printers and 5 each 3160/002 printer. Type of service requested is On-site repair/exchange service, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) 8 am to 5 pm. A separate usage charge (monthly) will not apply to any type 3130 printers until the monthly copies exceed 500,000 copies per month, per machines. The separate usage charge may apply to any number of copies on the type 3160 printers. The government will provide 30-day written notice in the event of service being discontinued on any or all machines. The monthly on-call price shall include all labor and maintenance parts. Separate travel costs or shipping costs are not permitted. Response time: 8 hours. Parts: Replacement parts not new must be in good working order and functionally equivalent to the new part. Items not covered by this maintenance agreement includ e accessories, supply items, batteries, frames and covers, or machine damaged by misuse, accident, modification, unsuitable physical or operating environment, or improper maintenance performed by the Government, or altered machines.
