Description

Work consists of compaction grouting required to stabilize a section of Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall under construction on the bank of the Tennessee River adjacent to the Shiloh National Military Park in Hardin County, Tennessee. The MSE wall i s part of a stream stabilization project designed to protect the park and associated cultural resources. Approximate quantities of major items of work include installation of about 150 boreholes, 4,000 feet of casing and 2,700 cubic yards of compaction gro ut. Marine access is required. Casing for the boreholes must be advanced through the MSE wall reinforced backfill (#7 stone) and/or stone riprap. Compaction grout will be low slump concrete placed under relatively high pressure. Solicitation documents will be available on or about 26 NOV 2001; hard copies will not be available. Contractor may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet at the following address: http://www.orn.usace.amry.mil on or after issue date of the solic itation. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. Bids will be opened on or about 26 DEC 2001 at 2:00 pm. Completion time for project is 90 days. The NAICS code for this project is 234990 with a size standard of $27.5 million dollars. The project range is $250,000.00 to $500,000.00 and bonding is required. All Contractors must be registered in the DOD's Central Contract Register at http://www.ccr200.com before award as required by DFARS 24.7300. Instructions will be included in the solicitation.
