Description

DREDGING FOR SECTION 1135 ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION DRAKES CREEKS, PHASE II. Work consists of excavation of underwater material, predominately clay with standard penetration values. Contractor must perform additional borings to define material characteristic s. Contractor is expected to develop disposal areas. Clearing and grubbing shall be performed over an area less than five acres. Geotextile materials made of synthetic materials shall be anchored and filled with excavated materials to form a containment dike for disposal areas. Approximate yardage of excavations is 110,000 cubic yards. The contractor will be required to provide all plant, labor, and materials. Solicitation documents will be available on or about 27 November 2001; hard copies will not b e available. Contractor may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet at the following address: http://www.orn.usace.army.mil or after issue date of the solicitation. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. Bid will be opened on or about 27 December 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Completion time is 180 days. This procurement is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Demonstration Program. Large Business must comply with FAR 52.219-9 regar ding the submission of a subcontracting plan. The subcontracting goals for this District with Small Business is 61.4%; including small disadvantaged business of 9.4% and woman owned small business of 5.0%. This plan is not required with the bid submittal . The NAICS Code is 234990 with a size standard of $27.5 million dollars. The projected bid range is expected to be between $5M -- $10M dollars and bonding is required.
