- 113 ROLLS TO BE DELIVERED TO NEW CUMBERLAND, PA 17070 5660-01-320-7956,BARBED TAPE, NON-REINFORCED: Non-reinforced barbed tape shall have the following characteristics:Barbed coils shall be 30 inches in packaged diameter. Tape shall be fabricated of 430 or 301 series austenitic stainless steel conforming to ASTM A666 and shall be hardened to Rockwell (30N) 40 minimum. Stainless steel shall be 0.025 inches thick and 1.250 inch wide before fabrication. Clusters of 4 barbs having a maximum tip radius of 0.005 inches shall be punched 4 inches on center. Barb cluster width shall be 1.200 inches. Barbs shall have a minimum length of 1.200 inches. Barbs shall be alternately offset from the tape centerline 0.15 -- 0.45 inches. Adjacent coiled loops shall be alternately clipped together or spot welded at 5 points of approximately equal spacing about the coil loop perimeter. Clips shall be capable of withstanding a minimum pure tensile load of 200 pounds. Welded attachments shall withstand a minimum pure tensile load of 400 pounds. Clips or welds shall be placed around the circumference of the tape such that adjacent loops are rigidly fixed, preventing any slipping of one past another at the point of attachment. Clips shall be fabricated from 0.065 inch by 0.375 inch stainless steel. Each roll of material shall contain 101 coil loops which shall be installed using a maximum spacing of 12 inches, plus or minus 2 inches, between coil loops with a 50 foot, plus or minus 2 foot, maximum coil length. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: The barbed tape shall be packaged and packed to afford adequate protection against physical damage during shipment from supplier to the first receiving activity providing it complies with the rules and regulations applicable to the mode of transportation. The package and quantity shall be the same as that normally used by the supplier. In the event a pallet or skid is used for shipping the item(s), the following notice shall apply.=20 NOTICE: Due to the spread of "Oak wilt disease" all lumber used inside or outside a shipment must be BARK FREE. MARKING: Unit and intermediate packages shall include normal commercial marking. The shipping container shall be marked with the National Stock Number (NSN) and the Purchase Order number in addition to any normal commercial markings present.
