- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is required to conduct an annual intercept survey of marine recreational anglers, gathering information on (1) their participation, fishing effort, and catch in marine recreational fishing, and periodically to collect information on (2) their demographic and economic characteristics. The Intercept Contract also will include economic surveys of anglers, maintenance of directories of charter and head boat operators, and pre-validation of charter and head boat trip data collected through the telephone survey component of the MRFSS. The results of the intercept surveys are processed by NMFS, in conjunction with other data, to produce estimates of total catch by species and total fishing effort. The contract, including any options, will encompass the 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 intercept survey tasks for the Atlantic coast north of Florida and in the U.S. Caribbean, spanning the period from May 31, 2002 through December 31, 2005. The resultant contract will be subject to the Service Contract Act. Wage determinations will be requested for San Diego, CA, Chicago, IL, Metropolitan Washington, DC, Denver CO, Salt Lake City, UT, and Radnor PA. The Contracting Officer will request wage determinations for additional localities if requested to do so in writing by 5:00 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, on the fourteenth calendar day after the date of issuance of the solicitation. It is anticipated that Solicitation No. 52-DGNF-2-90007 will be issued on or about November 28, 2001 and will close on or about January 15, 2002. [In the interim, a DRAFT copy of the Statement of Work is made available at http://www.rdc.noaa.gov/~amd/SOLINDEX.HTML. It is anticipated that the Statement of Work to be made a part of the RFP will not include any substantive changes.] All requests for copies of the solicitation document shall be in writing.
