Description

The Navy is developing an afloat Joint Maritime Command And Control Capability (JCC(X)) to support an embarked Commander Joint Task Force (CJTF), his staff, the component commanders and their staffs. This program passed Milestone 0 in Nov 99 and is in the concept development phase. In support of concept development, the Navy awarded 31 fixed price contracts to: 1) elicit industry/commercial input on the content of the government acquisition documents and 2) elicit industry/commercial input on 17 specific study areas of concern and other industry proposed areas. The 31 fixed price contracts allow for industry to perform a specific task with specific deliverables in support of the development of the JCC(X). Preliminary results of the industry efforts will be presented to all interested parties via open workshops. The purpose of this announcement is to provide initial information on these open workshops. No confidential information will be discussed at these workshops. Registration for the workshops will be by email only. No telephone requests will be honored. Registration for each workshop will be closed 10 working days prior to the start of each respective workshop session. To register for the workshops, send an e-mail including your name, company, position in the company, and justification for attendance to each of the workshops to jccx@navsea.navy.mil. Do not phone or email contracting officer unless absolutely necessary. Put Attendance request for workshop #X in the subject field of your email registration. Additional details on the workshops including agendas, specific location information and any security clearance requirements will be posted on the JCC(X) industry website, URL: http://pms377.navsea.navy.mil.
