See Numbered Note 22. This solicitation is to be issued as a Sole Source requirement to deliver a 40 watt laser welding system (Laser Weld Station Model #220-0002-X) capable of successfully connecting battery components and attaching a specialized flex print to the liquid reserve battery SAF 9410 to Rofin Sinar located at 45701 Mast Street. Plymouth, Michigan 48170-6008. The welding system must be capable of producing acceptable welds to hold the flex print onto the battery. This includes strength, weld penetration, and weld quality. The welding system must also be capable of producing welds that maintain the integrity of the battery cover weld including weld quality and hermeticity. The welding system must also have the ability to weld actual hardware with minimal development costs. The company must be able to provide maintenance and customer support within commercial pra ctices.
