Description

The Government is seeking professional design services from a architect-engineering firm for design of advance tray delivery systems in the Nutrition food Service of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. The A/E firm shall develop a single design with three (3) separate construction outcomes for each of the 3 VA Pittsburgh facilities. The design shall allow for construction work at each facility to include preparation and installation of new Government supplied equipment. The A/E firm shall have on his staff for the duration of the contract with the Government a full time Certified Industrial Hygienest (CIH) to perform asbestos survey investigations, bulk sampling, development of specifications, drawings and construction period services. Work includes architectural, electrical mechanical including any HVAC modifications, asbestos abatement, monitoring and site modifications to support the renovations required in each area. A/E shall furnish to the Government developed working drawings, specifications, provide construction cost estimate to the Contracting Officer and maintain construction period services consisting of review of submission matgerial, recommendations regarding contractor change proposals, site visits, etc. While developing a single design for three (3) VA Pittsburgh Healthcare facilities, the A/E shall be aware the design involves differing site conditions and differing installation at each facility. Estimated cost of construction is between $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. Area of consideration is restricted to within 60 miles of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, Pittsburgh, PA. 15240. Those interested firms within the area of consideration shall submit current forms SF-254 and SF-255 to the attention of J. E. Regan, Contracting Officer (04A1-H), VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. 15206. The current NAICS code is 54131. This acquisition is subject to the availability of funds for Fiscal Year 2002. This is not a request for proposal.
