Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, Florida, intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price contract for four (4) each General Dynamics Government Systems (GD-GS) Servers, Part Number 02-2777326-1AB, on a sole source basis to General Dynamics Government Systems, 400 John Quincy Adams Road, Taunton, MA 02780-1069. This acquisition is not suitable for full and open competition because only the GD-GS Server provides the required commonality for the Integrated Combat Weapons System (ICWS). To ensure functional commonality of the ICWS, the Hardware Working Group Integrated Project Team (IPT) has directed that all subsystems utilize the same software and hardware products identified by the IPT performing the design and build of the ICWS. The ICWS IPT has selected the GD-GS Server as best meeting the requirements of the ICWS. Accordingly, the GD-GS Server will be utilized by Coastal Systems Station in performing software development and hardware integration of various ICWS subsystems. No other server will provide the required commonality. Note 22 applies.
