- P-3 AIRCRAFT PARTS SALE SOURCES SOUGHT FOR P-3 AIRCRAFT PARTS SALE The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia (NAVICP) provides worldwide material logistics support to over 3,600 Navy and Marine Corps aircraft. NAVICP has identified a unique opportunity to sell various P-3 aircraft parts, excluding critical surveillance items. The P-3 is a land-based, long-range anti-submarine warfare (ASW) patrol aircraft. The sale items from the P-3 are reflected on the NAVICP stratification potential excess list. NAVICP is exploring the possibility of selling these aircraft parts using the forward auction method of sale. The success of this initial endeavor may lead to additional auctions. Prospective offerors are directed to the Defense Automatic Addressing System Center Inquiry Site, https://day2k1.daas.dla.mil/dodaac/ric.asp for material location code information. All property will be offered for sale "where is" and "as is" and without recourse against the United States. No guaranty or warranty, expressed or implied is made as to quantity, kind, character, quality, weight, size, or description of any of the property, or its fitness for use or purpose. No claim will be considered for allowance or adjustment or for rescission of the sale based on failure of property to conform to any expressed or implied representation. NAVICP is issuing to industry a Request for Information (RFI). The purpose of the RFI is to obtain information from industry regarding the marketability of these P-3 spare items. The government will own all information provided by industry and reserves the right to use this information in conjunction with this and future endeavors. All interest in this P-3 sales initiative must be expressed in writing by the close of business 15 January 2002. Prospective buyers may email their questions/comments to: P-3 Sales. Material Condition Codes: AServiceable (issuable without qualification) -- New, used, repaired or reconditioned material which is available to all customers without limitation or restriction. Includes material with more than six months shelf life remaining. EUnserviceable (Limited Restoration) -- Material which involves only limited expense or effort to restore to serviceable condition. Includes unserviceable material requiring limited repair (estimated repair cost less than 50% of unit price); material requiring major repair or complete overhaul and material for which extent of repair is unknown will normally be assigned Condition Code F. Includes Type 11 expired shelf life material which can be restored to serviceable condition and which is accomplished in the storage activity where the stock is located. F Unserviceable (Repairable) -- Economically repairable material which requires repair, overhaul, or reconditioning; includes items which are radioactively contaminated, and unserviceable material for which the extent of repair is unknown. HUnserviceable (Condemned) -- Material which has been determined to be unserviceable and does not meet repair criteria (includes items which are radioactively contaminated).
