U.S. Department of Commerce National Institutes of Standards & Technology NIST Information Security Meeting Embassy Suites Hotel Richmond, VA December 11, 2001 Event Purpose: Increasingly, businesses are relying on IT for storing, processing and communicating information. Information is one of the most valuable assets of any organization, public or private and the protection of that information is critical. Therefore, this meeting is designed to educate the private sector small/medium size businesses about Information Security. The attendees will be IS managers and business owners from companies within the Richmond area. The IS Meeting is part of a national effort by NIST to educate geographic regions in reference to Information Security. There will be pre-registered attendees present to get education on IA/IS technologies through NIST & other expert speakers. Expected attendance of 100-150 personnel from private companies.
