- Description
- The Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division intends to contract for dry-dock and repair of USCGC POLAR SEA (WAGB 11). This work is to be accomplished at the Contractor?s facilities. The definite work items include but are not limited to: Voids (Non-Accessible) Leak Test and Preserve, Various Tanks Clean and Inspect, 3 & 15 Ton Crane Repairs, Renew ALCO #3A main diesel engine mounts, #2 Main Gas Turbine Exhaust Casing Renewal, Centerline Oil Tube Vane Repair, Centerline, Port, and Starboard Propulsion Shafting and Propeller Removal and Reinstallation, Propulsion Shaft Stern Tube Bearing Check Clearances, Heat Exchanger Overhaul, Electric Meter (Critical) Calibration, SSDG Saltwater Rebalancing, Vent Ducts (Galley/Pantry/Laundry Exhaust) Commercial Clean, Main Diesel Engine Sea Valves Overhaul, Sea Valve Renewal/Overhaul, Sea Strainer Overhaul, Firemain Valve Renewal/Overhaul, Sanitary Flushing Water Valve, Central Hydraulic System (CHS) Isolation Valves Overhaul, Rudder Stock Repair, Rudder Inspect and Repair, Rudder Stock Bearings Check Clearances, Crescent Davit (Gen) Level 2 Inspection and Repair, Sewage Holding Tank Clean and Inspect, Decks (Exterior) Preserve, Hull Plating, U/W Body Preserve, Renew Coating on Interior of Vents on 01/Main WX Decks, Superstructure (Gen) Preserve, Main Mast Preservation, Laundry Equipment Replacement, Drydock Provide, and, Drydock Accomplish. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Solicitation will be issued on or about January 2, 2002 with a proposal closing date of February 6, 2002. Period of performance will commence 15 May 2002 and conclude 6 August 2002. This will be an unrestricted best value procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
