Description

DESCRIPTION: The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River MD, has a requirement for the preparation of an aluminum DD963 class mast (formerly USS Arthur B. Radford, DD-968, aft mast structure in association with MILCON P-562. All modifications to the mast are coordinated with the MILCON customers/contractor to run concurrently during the mast renovation/refurbishment period. This immediate requirement is to remove old, flaking paint, prepare the mast for painting and paint. Painting of the mast is to include one primer and two final coats. A high pressure water-blasting system to prepare the mast for painting is preferred as it avoids environmental issues that would otherwise be a factor. Offerors must demonstrate their ability to comply with NAWCAD environmental concerns. All vertical surfaces shall receive primers and paints as required by the BSR/ASTM-F718, Standard for Shipbuilders and Marine Paints and Coatings Product/Procedure Data Sheet. Revision of ANSI/ASTM F718-93). Paint scheme is to be as a standard shipboard mast, with Haze Grey predominate. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by the agency.
