- Description
- Under a separate contract the Library of Congress has commissioned the collecting of materials from the open access web relating to the September 11 attack on the United States. Presently, the Library of Congress has a requirement for contractor support in organizing these collected materials by analyzing the collection for depth and breadth of content, creating human and machine-generated metadata as specified by the Library of Congress to describe the sites, building a metadata database, and developing a web-based interface that offers multi functional access for scholarly and public users. All developed systems will be delivered to the Library of Congress and must function within the Library of Congress enterprise systems. A final report analyzing the process of developing these systems is also required. The Library intends to contract on a sole source basis with the Research Foundation at State University of New York(SUNY) Institute of Technology for these services. See note 22!
