Description

The U. S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is planning to issue an RFQ on or about 13 December 2001, to order additional engineering and technical support services, by extending the period of performance under DAAE30-00-F-0009 to 31 December 2002 under GSA Contract GS35F4381G with Computer Sciences Corporation, 15 Christopher Way, Eatontown, NJ 07724, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The contractor will provide following services in support of the the Mortar Fire Control System program: Assessment of Fire Control requirements such as systems engineering and communications analysis activities to ensure that the fire control system (FCS) can fulfill established operational and performance requirements to include the following: (a) Requirements analysis of mortar fire control systems to include the review of technical specifications and operational requirements for FCS, and all other systems that affect FCS mission, operational, or technical requirements. This shall include requirements tracability and testability to their lowest documented levels. When directed, the contractor shall support the PM at Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Integrated Concept Teams (ICTs). (b) The analysis of externally provided software to interface with and satisfy FCS requirements. This may entail the development and/or review of supporting technical documentation (e.g., Interface Control Documents, Software Requirements Specifications, Software Design Documents, and Implementation Plans). (c) Analysis of the FCS program to assure that it maintains functional and fielding synchronization and interoperability. The contractor will also perform specific engineering tasks related to Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) and other legacy Fire Support C2 systems as these systems relate to or are embedded within the FCS.
