Description
This is an announcement of the "highly competitive" potential prime contractors for IMDS. There is no solicitation available at this time. This is not a request for proposals. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This synopsis is for information and possible subcontracting/teaming arrangement planning purposes only and does not in its issuance restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. This announcement is in accordance with FAR 15.202 "Advisory Multi-Step Process". The Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) Program Office of Headquarters-Standard Systems Group (SSG) of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) published a Sources Sought Synopsis for the purpose of seeking information on sources capable of providing design, development, test, implementation, fielding, and sustainment services to achieve a single maintenance information system, which supports all of the Air Force 's maintenance communities as well as associated reporting and decision making processes. HIGHLY COMPETITIVE: All of the packages received in response to the Sources Sought Synopsis published in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) on 07 June 2001 were evaluated in accordance with the criteria stated in the notice. Based on this evaluation, the Government has determined the following firms to be "highly competitive" for the IMDS effort: =B7 BAE Systems,=20 =B7 CACI International,=20 =B7 Computer Sciences Corporation, =20 =B7 Electronic Data Systems Corp.,=20 =B7 ITT Industries -- Systems Division,=20 =B7 Litton PRC,=20 =B7 Lockheed Martin Information Systems,=20 =B7 Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC),=20 =B7 The Boeing Company,=20 =B7 Unisys Corporation.=20 The Government will invite these firms to actively participate with the Government in building the IMDS solicitation documents. These documents will include, but are not limited to, the Statement of Objectives, incentive strategies, the evaluation criteria for award, and the evaluation standards. Proposed subcontractors may participate with their proposed prime contractors in this document development exercise. Notwithstanding the above, any firm wishing to participate in any resultant acquisition on the IMDS program may do so and will be evaluated without prejudice. Please note that HERBB will be the primary source of information for the IMDS acquisition. Interested firms should check for updates frequently and subscribe to the HERBB update service. An Ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns from any interested firms during this phase of the acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the Program Manager or Contracting Officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government official. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman is Mr. Melvin W. Carr, SSG/PK.
