- Description
- U.S. Army West Desert Test Center, Utah, (USAWDTC), anticipates providing services to commercial entities under the provisions of Title 10 of the United States Code, Section 2681. The general nature of the anticipated commercial work is as follows: USAWD TC plans, executes, and reports the results of Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and integrated DT&E Operational test and evaluation (OT&E) on a variety of materiel including Chemical and Biological Defense Materiel, Smoke and Obscurants, Counter-Te rrorism/Domestic Preparedness (CT/DP) Field Exercises, Artillery, Combat Systems, General/Soldier Equipment, and Munitions using state-of-the-art shared technical support infrastructure and an extensive complex of in-place chemical and biological laborator ies and test facilities, test courses, environmental and containment chambers, and firing ranges. These existing capabilities, combined with: USAWDTC's mission of being DOD's Joint Chemical and Biological Reliance Center, almost 800,000 acres of varied de sert terrain test areas, broad environmental air permits for chemical and biological simulants, ability to use live chemical surety material and biological safety level 3 pathogens in laboratories and containment chambers, military airfield access, access to on-post housing and quality of life facilities, provide a unique combination of single source capabilities and a wide spectrum of services (from full-scale real-world environment testing of chemical and biological simulants through both simulated, and a ctual chemical and biological agent testing). USAWDTC has the capability to utilize both chambers and laboratories to support systems and material test and evaluation, and modeling and simulation efforts. These services and facilities are available to al l Department of Defense agencies, other United States government agencies, friendly foreign governments, universities, research and development laboratories, and private industry on a cost reimbursable basis. Private sector entities are invited to submit expressions of capability to perform services of the same general nature as listed above. This information will be maintained in a file and made available to prospective commercial customers for their use in determining if private sector enterprises may b e able to satisfy their requirements.
