Description

Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the University of Montana-Division of Biological Sciences for the NW Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC). Purpose of proposed contract is to provide population statistical analysis and GIS services. Proposed contractor possesses specialized GIS training, familiarity with local information sources within watersheds, and a demonstrated ability to complete research reports. Analytical approach for estimating potential occupancy of adult and juvenile salmon in Northwest treams is unique and still under development. Proposed contractor also possesses geographically oriented statistical analyses using a wide variety of data sources to parameterize equations being developed for esetimates of adult and juvenile salmon capacity. Proposed contractor also possesses familiarity using information from such diverse sources as ortho-photos, aerial photos, historical maps and literature-reported information on use of distinct habitat types by salmon.
