Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) revises a previously submitted synopsis (Refer to Synopsis No. 484180 dated 9 August 2000). NAVAIRSYSCOM intends to negotiate a sole source firm-fixed price follow on contract with Litton Guidance and Control Systems to procure approximately fifty (50) Global Positioning System Inertial Navigation Assemblies (GINAs). This anticipated contract is a follow-on SOLE SOURCE contract to Litton Guidance and Control Systems for a period of four years (base year and three option years). The GINAs have previously been procured under contract N62269-93-C-0010, which was competitively awarded to Litton Guidance and Control Systems. Litton Guidance and Control Systems is the sole designer and developer of the GINA system, and have been deemed the only responsible source to fulfill this requirement. The GINA consists of a self contained, all attitude, world wide, strap-down Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) and an embedded GPS receiver (EGR) that is capable of fully authorized operations whenever any combination of Selective Availability and Anti-Spoofing (SA/AS) operations is employed by the GPS Space and Control Segments. The GINA shall provide information to other systems to support navigation, time distribution, weapons delivery and flight control functions. The principal information provided by the GINA shall consist of acceleration, velocity, position, heading (True and Magnetic), attitude (roll, pitch), attitude rates and time. The GINA shall be provided with vehicle electrical power, control commands, initialization data, magnetic heading, and barometric altitude data for aided inertial and GPS operations. The GINA?s principal means for exchanging data, control commands, and status information with an external Mission Computer (MC) shall be a MIL-STD-1553 serial digital multiplex bus. The GINA system consists of the following Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRA): a. GINA ? This WRA contains a strap-down Inertial Sensor Assembly (ISA), an EGR, processor(s), control and interface electronics and power supply and b. GINA Mount. NAVAIRSYSCOM plans to award the contract to Litton Guidance and Control Systems, 5500 Canoga Avenue, Woodland Hills, CA 91367. Interests in subcontracting opportunities should be directed to Litton Guidance and Control Systems at the above mentioned address. This procurement is being contracted on a basis of ?other than full and open competition,? and this synopsis is for informational purposes only. See Notes No. 22 and No. 26. =20
