Description
The U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential commercially available fabrics for a possible future replacement of the current fabric used in the production of the issue Class A dress uniform (curr ent fabric is a 55/45% polyester/wool blend). These fabrics will be evaluated for a potential future wear test. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT CURRENTLY EXISTS. The fabrics must be produced in the U.S. of U.S. made fibers, but the Government is not mandating the type of fibers to be used. There is no requirement for a color at this time, but the fabric must be of a type appropriate for use in dress clothing (uniforms). Companies interested in having their fabrics considered for possible future use must submi t two (2) yards of their fabric along with an information paper (specification sheet) describing the fabric in detail to include such things as fabric name, washing instructions, blend of fabric, place of manufacture, current uses for fabrics, pricing info rmation and any other information the company feels appropriate. If you have brochures/booklets of different swatches of colors and blends of fabrics please submit them, along with information papers. If one of the submitted samples is chosen for further testing, the manufacturer must have available/or be able to produce the needed yardage of fabric for a wear test in a short period of time. The Governments goal is to identify new fabrics and shades for a potential new Army dress uniform. The samples an d information paper must be submitted no later than 15 Feb 02 to Ms. Pam Moriarty, US Army Soldier & Biological Chemical Command, Natick Soldier Center, ATTN: AMSSB-RIP-RSQ(N), Room D-226, Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760-5019.
