Description

CBD DRAFT DACW65-02-B-0001 Maintenance Dredging, Winter Harbor, Mathews County Virginia. Project Description: The work consists of maintenance dredging portions of the Channel to Newport News to a depth of 51 feet with an allowable overdepth of one foot (base bid), or maintenance dredging the same areas to a depth of 52 feet with an allowable overdepth of one foot (base bid plus optional bid item.) The Contractor, at his option, shall perform the work with a hydraulic dredge and discharge the dredged material into the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Diked Placement Area by pipeline, or perform the work with a bucket dredge and deposit the dredged material by bottom-dumping barges and scows within the Rehandling Basin at the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area. For bids based on deposit of dredged material in the Rehandling Basin, the Government will add the current rehandling charge of $1.20 per cubic yard, to be paid by the Government, for purposes of determining the low bidder. Including the base bid and optional bid items, with allowable overdepth and estimated accretion of 16,600 cubic yards of material to February 2002, the work involves dredging approximately 250,000 cubic yards of material. Magnitude of construction is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Duration of the project is 60 calendar days for performance (inclusive of options). This is a UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT. Applicable SIC code is 1629, with a size standard of $27.5 million. The NAICS code is 23499. The solicitation will be available on the internet only. No paper copies or CDs will be issued.
