Description

The Government intends to issue a commercial item requirement to procure COMPAQ manufactured equipment only on a firm fixed price type contract. The procurement consists of 2 each 3node ES40 server platforms with System Management ConsoleWorks station and 1 each Fiber Channel disk subsystems. (The Fiber channel systems configuration contains some router equipment manufactured by Cisco). These systems will provide IT support to Defense Medical administrative operations at CHCS sites in Landstuhl, Germany and Madigan Army Medical Center. In an effort to maintain uniform/standardized equipment and software interoperability with existing systems, the following prerequisites apply to this procurement: (1) All material must be manufactured by Compaq with the exception of the CISCO and misc Fiber channel equipment for Landstuhl; (2) All material must be in "new" or "un-used" condition never having been sold or leased to an end-user with the exception of the three CI Bus components; (3) All material must be under full "new equipment" COMPAQ manufacturer warranty, and (4) All equipment must be delivered to SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston NLT 1/31/02. It is anticipated that a formal solicitation will be available on or about Thursday, 27 December 2001 on SPAWAR's Business Opportunities Home Page. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals, and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with provided information requests. Respondents will not be notified of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resulting solicitation for the requirement. Closing date for the resposes is 27 December 2001.
