Description

The Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary (GFNMS) and the Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary (CBNMS) in San Francisco, California, has a requirement for education and outreach services. The education and outreach services are a critical component of the Sanctuary program and the primary avenue for increasing public appreciation for the Sanctuaries' resources. Duties and responsibilities include, may not necessarily limited to providing educational programming including distributing and maintaining information incorporating both management areas; compiling an educators packets; compiling and distributing a Sanctuary information packet; responding to requests for educational information and inquiries regarding the Sanctuaries' education program; providing information services at the Presidio Visitor Center to the general public; managing the Presidio Visitor Center and provide interpretive materials to the public; coordinating and training volunteers to assist in the Visitor Center; maintaining, updating, and developing new exhibits for the visitor centers; coordinating and leading field-based interpretive programs in the GFNMS and CBNMS; developing and leading interpretive programs from the Presidio Visitor Center; participating in outreach fairs; and coordinating and managing an offsite lecture series for the Sanctuaries. Any resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price contract with a base performance period of one (1) year with options for four (4) additional one-year periods. A Request for Proposals (RFP) solicitation will be issued on or about January 3, 2002. Requests for the documents are required to be in writing and may be faxed to 206/526-6025. The NAICS Code is 541990 with a size standard of $5 million. This is an unrestricted procurement.
