Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with L-1 Standards and Technology, Inc. of Ijamsville, MD for one (1) Cryorad II-B absolute cryogenic radiometer (ACR) for laser, monochromator or irradiance measurements, Model LL-B and one (1) Model TC-02 bridge box..***Sole source determination is based on the need for this ACR to be completely compatible with NIST's existing Cambridge Research Instruments (CRI) electronics purchased with a previous CRI ACR. L-1 Standards and Technology, Inc. is the sole manufacturer of cryogenic instruments that are completely compatible with CRI electronics.***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 120 days after receipt of order.***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334512, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by December 31, 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
