Description

The Eastern Administrative Support Center is seeking sources to conduct a study and assessment of artificial reefs in Outer New Bedford Harbor, Massachusetts for the National Marine Fisheries Service. The objective of this proposed acquisition is to construct an artificial reef to benefit natural resources injured within the New Bedford Harbor Environment. The reef(s) are expected to provide habitat for increasing fin fish and shell fish population recruitment, be used by commercial and recreational fishermen, divers, and/or for fishery research, and enhance the forage base for fisheries injured by PCB contamination. This proposed procurement is to complete a feasibility study that assesses existing ecological conditions and alternatives for one or more reefs, and evaluates the potential ecological impacts/benefits from the construction of the reef(s). The anticipated performance period is 210 calendar days. The applicable North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 541620, with a size standard of $5M. No contract award will be made on the basis of any quotation received in response to this notice since this synopsis cannot be considered a Request for Quotation.
