Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, has a requirement for support for an estimated five (5)-year program of dose estimation, dose reconstruction and evaluation of SEC petitions under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). The major elements of this program include: (1) researching data at Department of Energy and AWE facilities relevant to dose reconstructions, including the development of uncertainty estimates for various historical dosimetry practices, (2) identification and collection of recorded dosimetry, radiation data, and relevant information, (3) interviewing claimants, co-workers and others to interpret information, (4) estimating doses reconstructing dosage in cases where records are incomplete, (5) reporting and explaining and supporting results to the Department of Labor, (6) reviewing and supporting methods and reconstructions to claimants, their representatives, Department of Labor, Advisory Board, or court challenges, (7) maintaining a comprehensive database of claims, associated dose information, interview information, medical/personal information with supporting archival records and documents, (8) developing and maintaining a comprehensive database of information on the conditions, processes, practices, and incidents at DOE and AWE facilities relevant to dose reconstructions and petitions, (9) providing accurate and timely responses to requests for information from the public, researchers, Government officials, and Congress. Request for Proposal Number 2002-N-00201 will be issued unrestricted on or about January 11, 2002, and proposals will be due on or about February 19, 2002. Organizations who responded under Draft Solicitation Number EEOICPA-D will automatically be added to the solicitation mailing list. Other organizations interested may submit a written request to DHHS/PHS/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Pittsburgh Research Laboratory, Contracts Management Branch, P.O.
