This requirement is for medical examinations for United States Service Academies, ROTC Scholarships, and Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences personnel. The requirement consists of providing professional medical services necessary to accomplish complete medical, dental, audiometric, and optometric examinations. Examinations average approximately 500 per month. The contract type will be a Firm Fixed Price. (FFP). The DRAFT solicitation (RFP) will be released on or about 12 Nov 99 and posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) home page. The Internet address is http:// www.eps.gov and is then listed under EPS for Vendors and Direct Reporting Units. Hard copies of the DRAFT solicitation (RFP) will not be available. No telephone request for DRAFT solicitation (RFP) will be accepted. Response to this synopsis will be evaluated to assist the Government in determining solicitation and performance work statement development and requirements. This synopsis is not a request for RFP or IFB and responses are not considered as commitment by the government. This acquisition is an unrestricted procurement. If awarded to a large business, the successful contractor is mandated that 23% of the work shall be allocated to small business concerns (SDB, Women-owned and Hub-Zone). Any interested contractors that identify themselves for this procurement will be placed on the Offerors Mailing List, which will be available electronically at the above EPS Internet address. Industry's comments will be due at the above address on or about 14 Dec 99 @ 2:00 local Colorado prevailing time. This DRAFT solicitation (RFP) is being issued to solicit industry's comments/questions on the content of the RFP, including the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and how they can be improved/clarified to encourage competition, incorporate industry's standards and allow for better proposal from the offerors. The resulting contract will include a mobilization period, a basic year, and four one-year options. Median source selection procedures from FAR and AFFARS part 15 will be used for this best value acquisition.
