- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation. The Air Armament Center, Eglin AFB, FL, intends to solicit, request for proposal/quote, and award a Firm-Fixed Price contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, for two (2) Training on Object Oriented Analysis and Design Using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), which present the concepts and techniques, necessary to effectively use system requirements captured with use cases to drive the development of a robust design model. This training should be a hands-on workshop using computer terminals allowing participants to learn by applying the Unified Modeling Language (UML) to fundamental object-oriented analysis and design concepts including architecture, objects, classes, components, stereotypes, relationships, and all supporting diagrams. Instruction mode in the use of UML notation should be in the context of an iterative, use case-driven, architecture-centric process. The training must be for two (2) separate course locations. First course must be in the Washington DC, Arlington, Virginia area. The second course must be in Point Mugu, Naval Air Station, Oxnard, California. The course length must be for four (4) days. Courses must be taught during August 2001 timeframe. These two classes must be taught in successive weeks, both courses must not be taught on the same week. The total number of students is 32, 16 students for each class. This course must be a hands-on class, using computer terminals/laptops. Lecture only is not an option. The Government is prepared to provide laptops at the Point Mugu facility, if necessary. This requirement is a Small Business Set Aside. The appropriate North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 611420, with a Size Standard in $5,000,000. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard.
