Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/bids are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued as an attachment and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) number 0022680, is unrestrictive and is being conducted under the procedures of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13 (test program) . The North American Industrial Classification System Number is 421490 and the business size standard is 100 employees. The RFQ incorporated provisions and clauses that are in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to award a Brand Name (INFICON) or Equal, Firm Fixed Price type contract. If items called for in the RFQ are identified by a "brand name or equal" description, the identification is intended to be descriptive, not restrictive, and to indicate the quality and characteristics of products that will be satisfactory. Quotes offering "equal" products will be considered if such products are clearly identified in the quote and are determined by the FBI to meet fully the salient characteristic requirements of the products. Unless the vendor clearly indicates in their quotes that they are offering an equal product, the quotes shall be considered as offering a brand name product. All quotes to be received no later than 15:00 EDT, Friday, 9/14/01 and may be sent to the address above or via facsimile to 202-324-0570, Attn: Catherine A. Markardt.
